Arthur Levi Rainville, M.Photog., Cr., API, CPP is deeply respected in our profession for his stunning visualizations, wrapped in atmosphere and romanticism. Working out of his decorous studio in Whitinsville, Massachusetts for 40 years, he is widely known for his soft, muted, granular color work. Refinements of this life's passion lead to his lyrical, quixotic Mansuesco style of today. Defying a definable formula, Mansuesco, much like Impressionism, is a plurality of looks. An innate quality of light coupled with a compositional choreography is akin to his signature style. In a one-man show at the French Cultural Center, his work was astutely referred to as "...a synthesis of observation and imagination blended with a palette of gauzy colors." Returning photographic portraiture to a high art form is his muse.
Arthur has taught portraiture professionally on three continents, inspiring the budding or seasoned photographer for over 30 years, offering his unique brand of success - from the Art and the Heart. He is a prolific author with three published books on living the artful life. As our resident 'Sage,' Arthur continues to spread the word that Style matters.
Besides being a noted touring lecturer he has Fine Art work being shown throughout the United States, South America and Europe and has recently opened NAVIO Artisans Collective in the historic district of New Bedford, MA with a collaborative of regional artists. Having been called... one of photography's most sensitive image-makers and premier creative minds... he currently teaches at many PPA schools and offers private enrichment workshops throughout the Americas and European destinations.
His time is devoted and divided between portrait commissions, private consultancy and his on-going experiential art studies. As Executive Director, his life-long commitment to photographic education is now focused on building a contemporary 21st century learning experience at NEIPP - welcoming the industry's most innovative educators and joining them with enthusiastic PPANE members and guests.
