Selection Control Points
In Capture NX 2, Color Efex Pro 3.0 works intuitively with U Point powered
Control Points that are part of the primary feature set. The U Point powered
Selection Control Points let you identify and isolate objects within a
photograph by placing a Control Point on the object or area to be affected.
By analyzing the color, tonality, detail, and location, the Control Point
automatically determines where and how to apply certain effects, based
on your needs. Control Points allow for very powerful and precise selective
application of the Color Efex Pro 3.0 filter effects without having to
make complicated masks or selections.
After choosing a desired filter from the Filters menu and applying the
enhancement with a Selection Control Point, a new step is created
in the Capture NX 2 "Edit List." This provides controls for further
modifying your filter effect non-destructively.
Brush Tool
In Capture NX 2 you
can also apply filter enhancements selectively by using the Selection
Brush tool. Filters may also be applied using
a Wacom® pen
tablet, which provides for the ultimate in pressure sensitive
control.
Simply choose a desired filter from the Filters menu and the filter will
be applied globally. Then select the Selection Brush tool to paint in or
erase the filter’s effect from your image.
These different methods are designed to enable you to work in a selective style that best suits your workflow.
