Color Efex Pro 2.0 for Capture NX now supports one of the leading
image editing tools used by professional photographers worldwide,
Capture NX from Nikon. Support for Nikon Picture Project and
Capture 4 is also included (see Compatibility for further details).
Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 Complete Edition for Capture
NX contains 75 traditional and stylistic photographic filters.
Numerous options for each filter, combined with the power of
Capture NX give you the widest range of photographic enhancements
possible. The Select Edition contains 45
filters. The Standard Edition has 19 filters. Click

Photographic filters are easier to apply selectively
in Capture NX than in other image editing programs. To apply
a filter selectively, choose it from the Filter menu and adjust
basic or advanced settings to your liking. Changes appear on
your image immediately rather than in a Preview window. Then,
simply click the brush or gradient tool 
to
automatically “load” the filter
effect and apply selectively. Filters may also be applied using
a Wacom® pen tablet, which provides for the ultimate in pressure
sensitive control.
The 16-bit TrueLight™ Color Engine provides
even better photographic enhancements by preserving the relationships
between color, contrast, and detail. The TrueLight Color Engine
provides more natural film-like images and allows users to
achieve far better quality enhancements, with more natural
and photographic results.
The Advanced Panel provides additional controls to
adapt the filter’s
enhancement to enable it to protect the highlights and shadows
in the image in order to provide higher quality effects and
enhancements. Available only in selected filters, the Advanced
Panel also provides a histogram that enables you to identify

Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 is a welcome addition to my Capture
NX editing workflow. This
extensive filter set not only allows me to easily adjust my
images, but do so in the non-destructive environment of Capture
NX. Color Efex Pro 2.0 adds a new creative dimension to Capture
NX.

Having
Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 in Capture NX is like having your cake
and being able to eat it, have all the icing and then stepping
on a scale to find out that you've lost weight. First, NX allows
me to get back to what I am. A Photographer away from being
an image-maker. Capture NX’s ease of use, turbo charged with the
U Point® technology in the form of control points makes working
on an image an absolute pleasure. I
find that the time spent in front of a glowing monitor is easily
reduced by two thirds AND it's completely nondestructive. My
file sizes are greatly reduced from hundreds of megabytes to
tens of megabytes. If this was all NX did it would certainly
justify the price of admission. But with the addition of Nik
Color Efex Pro 2.0, I now have my most essential and favorite
aesthetic plug-ins in a RAW processor. All of which I can undo
(should I choose to) in the best place to be working: the
actual RAW file!!!
